Former President Donald Trump, who has been recently indicted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on a range of criminal charges relating to his attempts to “alter Georgia’s 2020 election results,” is set to fight back to prove the “witch hunt” of a decision is “politically motivated” and “wrong.”
The top Republican presidential candidate announced that he will be defending his stance that the 2020 election was rigged in a press conference to be held on Monday, Aug. 21, in response to a decision that indicted him and 18 others on “racketeering charges.” According to a post on his social media platform Truth Social, he is going to present a large, complex, detailed but irrefutable report on the presidential election fraud which took place in Georgia.
“[It] will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey,” the former president said, further adding, “Based on the results of this conclusive report, all charges should be dropped against me & others – There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that rigged the election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!” (Related: ‘Detailed but irrefutable’: Trump to present report on 2020 election fraud in Georgia next week.)
He also posted on the platform his lamentations that the two-year investigation was a “WITCH HUNT!” Legal experts and practitioners agree with Trump on this.
Constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes commented that this indictment is the most insane yet by the looniest prosecutor, citing how claims on tweets are conspiracies, legal advice is a crime, Constitutional law is a criminal act, and demanding officials do their job is criminal solicitation. “It is an embarrassment to the state of Georgia,” Barnes lamented.

Among the “petty” charges on Trump and the 18 others include the former POTUS’s tweet encouraging voters to tune into televised broadcasts.
Provided in Act 22, the Georgia indictment said that Trump encouraging voters to watch television is a conspiracy. “On or about December 3, 2020, DONALD JOHN TRUMP caused to be tweeted from the Twitter account @RealDonaldTrump, ‘Georgia hearings now on @OANN [One America News Network]. Amazing!'” the 98-page paper included. Moreover, Act 100 of the indictment faulted the president for encouraging supporters to tune into Newsmax and Act 101 listed another tweet that encouraged supporters to tune into the Right Side Broadcasting Network as an act of conspiracy.
Willis also charged Trump’s last White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows for soliciting phone numbers from a pair of Pennsylvania lawmakers. “Meadows sent a text message to United States Representative Scott Perry from Pennsylvania and stated, ‘Can you send me the number for the speaker and the leader of PA Legislature? POTUS wants to chat with them,'” the indictment reads. This was, apparently, an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy as per the DA decision.
Trump’s team’s grassroots campaigning is also conspiratorial as per Act 38 of the criminal indictment. Attorney Rudy Giuliani Giuliani was indicted for retweeting a “Patriot Call to Action” that encouraged voters to call their members of Congress to advocate for their cause. “Today is the day we need you to call your state Senate & House Reps & ask them to sign the petition for a special session. We must have free & fair elections in GA & this is our only path to ensuring every legal vote is counted @realDonald Trump,” Guiliani’s tweet said.
Act 32 stated that the former president’s call on state leaders to ensure signature verification and call a special session is also conspirational. Additionally, Trump’s calling President Pro Tempore of the Georgia Senate Butch Miller on Dec. 3 and Dec. 26, 2020, were overt acts in furtherance of the conspiracy as well as per Willis.
Mike Davis, a former chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, suggested that Congress probe the level of coordination between the Willis and federal officials connected to President Biden. “Fani Willis refused to say whether she’s colluding with the Biden Justice Department, including Jack Smith. House Republicans must subpoena those communications,” Davis urged.
For Attorney Harmeet Dhillon, real lawyers know that just about nothing is a provable Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act in front of a fair court. “Woke prosecutors are increasingly criminalizing speech in America, and this threatens all of us,” he said.
Stephen Miller, the founder of America First Legal, commented that “Just so you understand the new system: the most corrupt democrat jurisdictions will criminally charge you if you challenge their corruption.”
Moreover, lawyer Will Chamberlain opined that Willis just indicted a bunch of lawyers for doing legal work real “banana republic stuff.” For him, the indicted attorneys were doing good faith legal work, and that it was insane to charge them with racketeering.
The latest Georgia county DA decision marks the fourth major indictment against Trump in nearly as many months, and the second related directly to his actions during the 2020 election. The former president has been issued with an arrest warrant and ordered to surrender by Aug. 25. Willis has proposed arraignments for the week of September 4 and a trial date of March 4, 2024.
